If you are using the original RCM ® (large and small) or the InstaSplint ™ insert them on the maxillary arch.
If you are applying the LiteSplint ™ or LitePlus appliance, insert it on the mandibular arch.
STEP 7 /
Instruct the patient to close slowly into the selected construction bite without allowing the teeth to penetrate the appliance.
STEP 8 /
Once the correct construction bite is set, moisten your fingers. Ask the patient to use the tongue to thrust forward and laterally to mold the inside surface, while you begin molding the dental appliance firmly with your fingers along the outside.

When the appliance is well molded, ask the patient to create a negative pressure in their mouth by making a sucking action to finish the fitting.
STEP 10 /
Remove the appliance and place it in cold water.
STEP 11 /
Spray the patient’s tongue with a water syringe.

If the appliance is too large it can be trimmed with a high-speed diamond burr or scissors.
